James M. Golubieski is President of the Foundation Venture Capital Group, LLC, and the New Jersey Health Foundation. Both organizations support the growth of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Mr. Golubieski had been CFO of Array Medical, Inc., a medical device company established in 1995 that developed a groundbreaking blood test to test platelet function. The company was sold in 1999. Previously, he was chief operating officer and senior executive vice president of Glendale National Bank and a member of its board of directors, president of Glendale Investment Corp. and Glendale Mortgage Services, Inc. and chief financial officer of Glendale Bancorp, which was acquired by Mellon Financial. For 10 years prior he had been with KPMG. In addition to being a member of the Snowdon Board of Trustees, Mr. Golubieski sits on the boards of Actinobac Biomed, Inc., CellXplore, Inc. and Durin Technologies, all companies in which Foundation Venture Capital Group has invested. Gary Grover, Ph.D., received his Bachelor of Science degree from Rutgers University College of Agriculture and Environmental Science. He received his Ph.D. in 1982 in physiology from Albany Medical College and studied host response mechanisms in models of shock and trauma. He then spent 3 years as a post-doctoral fellow at Rutgers Medical School studying the pharmacology and physiology of myocardial ischemia and the coronary circulation. From there, he took a research position at Bristol-Myers Squibb in 1985 where he worked primarily on the pharmacology of myocardial ischemia, specializing in ion channel pharmacology, particularly mitochondrial ATP-sensitive potassium channels. At BMS, his in vivo expertise also allowed him to work in numerous fields including diabetes, obesity, endocrinology, sepsis, and lipid metabolism. In 2003 Dr. Grover became Director of Pharmacology at Eurofins Scientific-PSL where he consulted with pharmaceutical companies, helping them design drug discovery programs. Dr. Grover is now Professor of Physiology and Biophysics at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and is still a Director of Pharmacology for Eurofins. Dr. Grover has authored 200 peer-reviewed manuscripts and 10 book chapters. He has served on American Heart Association (national and local) and NIH (pharmacology) study sections for grant review. He is an American Physiological Society Cardiovascular Fellow. Robert B. Royds, M.D., is Medical Director and Chairman of the Board of Theradex®, Princeton NJ. Theradex® is an international contract research organization providing complete professional services for the clinical research and development of pharmaceutical compounds, medical devices and diagnostic tests in the areas of oncology and life-threatening diseases. Dr. Royds directs the scientific affairs of the company, drawing over 30 years of domestic and international experience both as an investigator and administrator in clinical research and development. A member of the Royal College of Physicians, he earned his medical degree in 1967 at the University of London. He trained in clinical pharmacology at St. Bartholomew's Hospital where he then served as Chief Assistant to the Professor of Medicine and Senior Registrar of the Medical Professorial Unit. After entering industry, Dr. Royds expanded his expertise in clinical study design, management, monitoring, regulatory affairs, and product development as an executive with Merck, Sharp & Dohme Research Laboratories and Hoffman-LaRoche, Inc. Since 1979, Dr. Royds has served as a consultant in clinical research and development to both government and industry. Since 1982, he has been Principal Investigator for the Clinical Trials Monitoring Service (CTMS) for the National Cancer Institute. In that time, the Company has gained extensive experience in the treatment of cancer and allied diseases, and has formed long-standing relationships with oncology thought-leaders, academic and non-academic institutions, regulatory personnel, and business clients.
