Dr. Richard D. Wood is the Director of Research and Development at Snowdon. Dr. Wood possesses extensive experience in New Jersey pharmaceutical companies including Cytogen. His career spans drug discovery in medicinal chemistry to management responsibilities in drug development. He earned the Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry at Cornell University and has spent over twenty years in pharmaceutical and biotech companies. His experience includes autoimmune research at CIBA-GEIGY, anti-infective research at Bristol-Myers, drug discovery and development research at SeaPharm, Inc., Georgetown University Medical School, Cytogen Corporation, Symphony Pharmaceuticals, Zynaxis-Cauldron, VectraMed, and Polymerix Corporation, and intellectual property consulting at Rutgers University and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. His scientific expertise spans the areas of chemical synthesis, medicinal chemistry, bio-organic analytical techniques, peptide synthesis, peptidomimetic synthesis, bioconjugation, and biodegradable polymer synthesis. He also has experience in GLP and cGMP practices, Quality Control and Quality Assurance, and chemical process development. Dr. Wood is a registered Patent Agent and has experience in the preparation and prosecution of patents. He is co-inventor on nine issued U.S. Patents.
