Stephen D. Albano, CPA joins Snowdon as the interim CEO after serving the company for the past eighteen months as its financial consultant and Controller. He brings fifteen years of experience serving large and small companies in numerous industries. For the past seven years, Mr. Albano has managed his own accounting and tax practice, serving small businesses and individuals. Prior to that, he was a manager with KPMG in the firm’s Health Care and Public Services practices. Mr. Albano is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the State of New Jersey and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJSCPA). He is a summa cum laude graduate of Rider University’s accounting program with a degree in Business Administration. Dr. Richard D. Wood is the Vice President of Research and Development at Snowdon. Dr. Wood possesses extensive experience in New Jersey pharmaceutical companies including Cytogen. His career spans drug discovery in medicinal chemistry to management responsibilities in drug development. He earned the Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry at Cornell University and has spent over twenty years in pharmaceutical and biotech companies. His experience includes autoimmune research at CIBA-GEIGY, anti-infective research at Bristol-Myers, drug discovery and development research at SeaPharm, Inc., Georgetown University Medical School, Cytogen Corporation, Symphony Pharmaceuticals, Zynaxis-Cauldron, VectraMed, and Polymerix Corporation, and intellectual property consulting at Rutgers University and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. His scientific expertise spans the areas of chemical synthesis, medicinal chemistry, bio-organic analytical techniques, peptide synthesis, peptidomimetic synthesis, bioconjugation, and biodegradable polymer synthesis. He also has experience in GLP and cGMP practices, Quality Control and Quality Assurance, and chemical process development. Dr. Wood is a registered Patent Agent and has experience in the preparation and prosecution of patents. He is co-inventor on nine issued U.S. Patents. Dr. William J. Welsh, Scientific Founder of Snowdon Inc., holds the Norman H. Edelman Professorship in Bioinformatics and Molecular Design in the Department of Pharmacology at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey - Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (UMDNJ-RWJMS), Piscataway, NJ. Concurrently, he serves as Director of both the UMDNJ Informatics Institute and the Environmental Bioinformatics and Computational Toxicology Center. Dr. Welsh has more than 400 peer-reviewed scientific papers and 20 pending or issued patents on topics relevant to Snowdon’s scientific and business interests. He is a noted authority on the development and application of computational tools for drug discovery and predictive toxicology. |
