Company Overview Snowdon Inc. is a pharmaceutical company that is focused on four major therapeutic areas with substantial market potential: cancer, acute and chronic pain, neurological disorders, and infectious diseases. These medical conditions cause immense suffering, economic hardship, and loss of life among millions of people every day. In each of these therapeutic areas, Snowdon has discovered prospective drug candidates that address the urgent need for safe and effective medicines. Snowdon’s pipeline extends from NCEs to repurposing off-patent drugs for new clinical indications. The company’s two lead candidates, SND-223 and SND-225, have shown exceptional safety and efficacy in animal models as treatments for neuropathic pain. SND-223 and SND-225 appear to treat pain through a unique mechanism of action, distinct from traditional analgesics such as opioid narcotics, NSAIDs, or the calcium channel blockers gabapentin and pregabalin. Another preclinical candidate, SND-119, shows promise as a treatment for metastatic melanoma. Although its precise mechanism of action is unclear, SND-119 is believed to inhibit the function of proteins whose expression is upregulated specifically in cancerous cells. Snowdon is pursuing discovery-stage projects on SND-159 and SND-121 as novel treatments for infectious diseases such as tuberculosis and toxoplasmosis. Preliminary studies reveal that SND-159 and SND-121 may also possess utility as broad-spectrum treatments against biowarfare pathogens such as anthrax, brucellosis, and melioidosis. These projects are funded through grants from the NIH, the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), and the New Jersey Commission on Science & Technology (NJCST). Snowdon’s technology platform is built for speed, economy, and maximum success rate. We employ an advanced technology platform that enables our scientists to rapidly identify high-value molecules from our extensive computer library of vendor-available compounds, which can then be purchased in small quantities for initial biological evaluation. Additional computational filters predict whether selected molecules satisfy key requirements, including potent biological activity for the intended target, acceptable ADME/Tox profile, oral bioavailability, and synthetic accessibility. Our approach enables rapid progression from “hit” to “lead” in the drug discovery process, and allows us to focus only on the most promising drug leads. The more costly steps of structural optimization via chemical synthesis and time-consuming biological evaluation are reserved exclusively for molecules that already show promise as first-in-class or best-in-class therapeutics. We believe that Snowdon, with an existing pipeline of drug candidates fed by an advanced technology platform, possesses the core capabilities to deliver breakthrough pharmaceutical products for the marketplace and for the patient. |
